Joe Rogan Lauds UFC Icon Daniel Cormier as a Modest ‘Killer’

In a recent episode of the Joe Rogan Experience podcast, host Joe Rogan enthusiastically praised Daniel Cormier, a former two-division UFC champion. Rogan described Cormier as not only one of the most accomplished champions in the sport’s history but also “the nicest f**king guy you’d ever meet in your life.”

Cormier made headlines by becoming just the second fighter ever to capture UFC titles in two separate weight classes. His memorable knockout of Stipe Miocic at UFC 266 in 2015 earned him the heavyweight title, complementing his existing light heavyweight championship. Notably, Cormier managed to defend titles across different divisions while actively holding both belts, showcasing his versatility and skill.

Retiring in 2019 with an impressive record of 22 victories, three defeats, and one no contest, Cormier’s career highlights include significant wins against renowned fighters such as Anderson Silva, Dan Henderson, and Alexander Gustafsson.

Though he might be considered relatively small for the heavyweight division, Cormier is hailed as one of the sport’s all-time greats. His remarkable achievements were recognized when he was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame’s Modern Wing in 2022.

After stepping away from competitive fighting, Cormier transitioned to a role as a cage-side commentator for UFC events, frequently sharing the commentary booth with Rogan and play-by-play announcer Jon Anik. Rogan, who has had the privilege of collaborating closely with Cormier, holds the former champion in high regard both personally and professionally.

Rogan characterized Cormier as a “tank of a human being” with outstanding wrestling abilities and an unparalleled drive to succeed. He emphasized Cormier’s dominance across two weight classes, dubbing him a true “killer” inside the octagon. However, despite his intimidating presence during fights, Rogan highlighted Cormier’s warmth and humility outside the ring.

If you were to spend time with Cormier, Rogan notes, you might find it hard to believe that this approachable and friendly individual possesses the prowess to defeat anyone in the room with ease.

In summary, Rogan’s heartfelt endorsement of Daniel Cormier as both a formidable athlete and a genuinely kind person underscores the former champion’s exceptional character and significant contributions to the world of mixed martial arts.
